Wayne Skobel

Murphysboro- Wayne Skobel, 79, passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Wayne was born July 8, 1934 in Gorham to Frank and Cora Ella (Raines) Skobel. He is survived by his wife, Joanna Skobel of Murphysboro; brother, Frank (Mary) Skobel of Benton; and his sister Karen (Rick) Weisenstein of De Soto. He was especially close to his two children, Ricky Skobel of Elkvlle and daughter Jan Marie Conley of Jefferson City, MO; and his best buddy, Delbert and his wife Betty McCoy and their family. He was an avid hunter. He had worked for CIPS as a Lineman for 37+ years. He will be greatly missed by many. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at De Soto Cemetery. Reverends Shaker Samuel and Rick McNeely will be officiating the service. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
