Walter E. Reichrath of Murphysboro, IL passed away at his home at noon on February 17. Walter was born in Carbondale on September 6th, 1958 to Alma (Talley) Reichrath and Ray Reichrath. His parents precede him in death as well as his grandparents. He is also preceded by his fathers-in-law, William Lindsey and William Coulter, as well as a grandson, Tony McDowell. He is survived by his wife, Alissa Reichrath; three sisters, Raetta Blessing ( Arvin Blessing) of Murphysboro, Brenda Schott (Charles Schott) of Ava, Tina Tow (Curt Tow) of Elkville; two borthers, Phillip Reichrath (Mary Reichrath) of Murphysboro, James Reichrath (Cindy Duke) of Murphysboro; two sons, Charles J. Reichrath (Nicole Reichrath) of Florida, Austin L. Crane (Lindsey Howell)of Murphysboro; and three daughters, Raelin Reichrath, Heather N. Reichrath (Jamey Lawrence), Cordelia L. McDowell (Chris Ahner). Walter was a parishioner of the Jubilee Tabernacle Church in Desoto and a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He worked as truck driver and mechanic his whole life and was passionate about NASCAR and racing. Visitation will be held Monday, February 20: 5pm-8pm, at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale, IL with Rev. Larry Gilbert officiating. Funeral services will be next day, February 21 at 11am at Meredith Funeral Home. Interment will be at Camp Creek Cemetery in Murphysboro, IL.
