W. Sue Hall

CARBONDALE – W. Sue Hall, 83, of Carbondale, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at The Landings in Carbondale.



Sue was born August 7, 1935 to Charles and Selma (Temke) Brown in Olmsted, Illinois. She married Cletus Robert Hall on June 3, 1956 in Olmsted. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1996.



Sue did many things over her lifetime, she was a housewife, law secretary, interior designer and political secretary. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Carbondale. Sue was involved in many organizations and committees over the years to include Jackson County Republican Chairwoman, Beta Sigma Phi, Asburian Committee, Prime Timers and Feed My Sheep Committee and the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale Auxiliary.



Sue is survived by her two daughters, Candace Smith and husband Jeff of Carbondale and Melanie Pitts and husband Wesley of Wolf Wake; grandchildren, Kelly Clark, Tracy Parmer, Cassie Sharp, Samantha Smith, Benji Smith, Clayton Smith and Madison Pitts; great-grandchildren, Austin and Miranda Smith, Alec, Noah and Evan Parmer, Addilyn and Hunter Clark, and Riley and Amelia Sharp.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister.



Funeral services for Sue will be 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with Rev. Alan Rhein officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the funeral home.



Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the funeral home.
