Virginia Hollis

CARBONDALE – Virginia Hollis, 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Virginia was born on October 25, 1940 to Ollie and Millie (Spence) Boaz in East St. Louis. Her parents and one sister, Estee Cornelious preceded her in death.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour over 50 years ago. She was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church where she was the assistant minister. She was licensed as an evangelist and ordained as a minister. She was employed as a caregiver to her son.

Virginia is survived by her children, one daughter, Mrs. David (Elizabeth) Dunn of Monroeville, PA, and one son, Clifford Taylor of Carbondale, IL, three grandchildren Valerie Dunn, Mrs. D’Ante (Gabrielle) Eason, and Jonathon Dunn. Also two great grandchildren Jeremiah Dunn and Julia Eason, several nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral service for Virginia will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Refuge Temple C.O.G.I.C in Marion, IL with Pastor Larry Lee officiating. Burial will follow.  A visitation will be on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
