Vertis Meacham

MARION - Vertis Meacham, 90, passed away on November 24, 2024 at Herrin Hopsital surrounded by her loving family.

Vertis was born on October 3, 1934 in Cobden, IL to Claude Casper and Martha (Smith) Casper. Vertis married Earl Meacham on April 3, 1954 in Pinckeyville, IL. 

Vertis loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doting on every one of them and watching them play. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl Meacham, son Robert Meacham, and her siblings.

Vertis is survived by her children, Marie Meacham of Marion and Lynn (Bruce) Glasco of Herrin; grandchildren Misty Glasco, Jason Glasco, and Ashley Wilkins; great-granchildren Sandy, Silas, Briana, Hayden, Robert, Vincent, and Jaden; great-great grandchild Cass.

Vertis’s wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service will take place on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville with Rev. John Annable officiating.
