Terrance Lee Wright

GRAND TOWER - Terrance Lee Wright, 68, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Terry was born on September 9, 1954 in Murphysboro, IL to Orville “Jim” and Barbara Ann (Jackson) Wright. Terry married his High School sweetheart Brenda Qualls on April 27, 1972. Of that union was born three children, Jamie Wright, David Wright and Heather DeLashmutt. Brenda preceded him in death on July 5, 2016.

Terry retired from AMEREN Power plant after 37 years. He loved riding his Harley and working in his shop. Terry married Mary Kelley on June 1, 2019 in Goreville and she survives. Together they enjoyed many extensive trips on their motorcycle.

Terry is survived by his grandchildren, Colton Wright, Zachary Wright, Carly Wright, Zayden Wright and Miles DeLashmutt; sister, Leslie Dempsey; brother, Kenny Wright; son-in-law, Michael DeLashmutt; step-children, Tia Fosse and Amber Parr; and many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda; and son, Jamie Wright.

Funeral services for Terry will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Lighthouse Christian Assembly in Grand Tower with Pastor Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made in Terry’s name to Cornerstone Church of Marion for Kingdom Builders or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the church.
