Shirley Jean Robertson

GRAND TOWER – Shirley Jean Robertson, 74, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at her home in Grand Tower, IL.

Shirley was born on March 17, 1949 in Saint Louis, MO to Loren Thomas "Sleepy" Robertson and Irene Idell (Cotner) Robertson.

Shirley lived in Grand Tower all of her life. She attended The Lighthouse Church in Grand Tower. Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Lauren and great-grandson AJ.

Shirley is survived by her children, Russell Robertson of Carbondale and Michelle DeRossett of Grand Tower; grandchildren, Whiteny, Lauren and Christopher; great-grandson AJ; seven brothers, Thomas, James, Frank, Charles, Gary, Larry, and Stanley Robertson, and two sisters, Alma "Red" Cripps and Pearl Knupp; very special niece, Shelly Rae and many nieces, nephews, friends, and her best friend, Julie Crabtree.

She was preceded in death by the love her life, Ronnie “Poppy” Robertson; parents; son, Shannon Robertson; grandson, Joseph Scott Robertson, three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services for Shirley will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 20, 2023 with Bob Henson officiating at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower.
