Shirley J. Thomas

CARBONDALE - Shirley J. Thomas, 73, passed away on August 11, 2016 in Carbondale, IL.



Born on November 23, 1942, in Qulin, MO to her parents Earl Leonard and Ada Keirsey. Shirley was raised in Qulin and moved to St. Louis, MO in her early twenties. She retained her Qulin childhood friendships throughout her life. She faithfully served as a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Maplewood, MO. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.



She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, James Rodney Thomas; and is survived by two daughters: Lisa (Jim) Salmo of Carbondale, IL and Debbie (Doug) Bert of St Louis, MO; two brothers: Don Keirsey of St. Louis, MO, DeWayne Keirsey of Campbell, MO, and the late Merald, Gerald and Gail Keirsey; three sisters: Pam Whitehead of Bonne Terre, MO, Janice Williams of Alabama, and the late Patsy Donica. She was a proud grandmother to David Salmo, Maddie Bert and Jack Bert.
