Shirley Chen

Murphysboro - Shirley Chen, 78, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at her home with her family by her side. Shirley was born in Taipei, Taiwan on November 06, 1936 to Pu Chen and Zong Lee. She is survived by her two sons, Anthony Chou and Winslow Chou, both of Murphysboro; brothers, Robert Chen, of San Jose, CA and Shen Ci Chen, of Taiwan; sisters, Susan Liao, of Edmond, OK, and Xue Qing Chen, Fu May Chen, and Xue Er Chen, of Taiwan; and the dearest friends of the Chinese Bible Fellowship of Calvary Campus Church at Carbondale. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. She received her Associates degree in Accounting and worked as an Accountant in Taiwan. When she came to the states in 1968, she stayed at home to raise her children. She became a member of the Calvary Campus Church of Carbondale in 1996. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on January 10th, 2015 at Calvary Campus Church of Carbondale, with Pastor Bruce Payne officiating. A time of gathering will be held from noon to 1:00 PM at the church on the same day of service. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Campus Church of Carbondale, and will be accepted by Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale.
