Sharon Kay Hertter

Carbondale – Sharon Kay Hertter, 75, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.



Sharon was born April 28, 1945 in Carbondale to Cecil and Pearl (Lindsey) Freeman. On August 29, 1965 Sharon married William “Bill’ Hertter. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2017.



She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Jennifer) Hertter of Oak Forest, and John (Nicole) Hertter of Carbondale; five grandchildren, Caleb (Megan) Hertter of Campbell Hill, Katie Hertter of Oak Forest, Kyle Hertter of Oak Forest, KC Jo Hertter of Carbondale, and Jackson Hertter of Carbondale; two great-grandsons, Maddix Ehlers and Cyrus Hertter; many nieces and nephews, and special friends.



Sharon is preceded in death by her husband and parents.



Funeral services for Sharon will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with Pastor Eric Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12 – 2 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, the visitation and funeral will be limited to 50 people at a time in the building, along with the requirements of wearing a mask and social distancing from one another.



Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to The Ridge Church building fund or to Gideon International.
