MURPHYSBORO - Ronald "Ron" Lovsey, 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on February 19, 1940 to James Edwin Lovsey and Claudine Frances Lovsey in Edwardsville. He married Carmen Delores Newell on November 25, 1959 in Edwardsville.
Ron is survived by his wife, Carmen; his daughters, Ginger (Joseph) Snyder and Cherie Lovsey (Luke); his brothers, Bill (Deana) Lovsey, Tom Lovsey, John (Alta) Lovsey, David (Diane) Lovsey, Bob (Marsha) Lovsey, Jeff Lovsey, and Curtis (Kelly) Lovsey; his sisters, Beverly Varble and Tammy Hannah; his three grandchildren, Treasa, Christia, and Meghan; his nine great grandchildren, Brittany, Kimberly, Natalie, James, Colten, Maria, Emily, Kayson, and Kayden; as well as two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Flora Trebing and Mary Dunaway, and his granddaughter, Casey Ticer.
Ron was the greatest loving father, wonderful grandfather and role model to his children and all of his grandchildren. He worked hard in life and in his business, Modern Copier Inc. which he owned and ran for 40 years. During his off times from work he loved to share his time with family and friends, working on Hot Rod cars, boating and wintering in Florida in his RV.
A memorial service in Ron's honor will be scheduled for a later date.
