Robert Taylor

Robert M. Taylor passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 21st in Carbondale, Illinois at 2:15pm. Bob was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on August 10th, 1945 to Loma (Mauney) Taylor and Hubert Taylor. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (McIntosh)Taylor, and their three daughters: Jennifer Taylor of Carbondale, Leigh Taylor of Carbondale, and Ellen Taylor of Austin, Texas. Robert worked as school teacher since 1968 and began working at Carbondale Community High School in 1974 until his retirement in 2006. A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Saturday, February 25th at Meredith Funeral Chapel in Carbondale, Illinois. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 25th at 4pm in Meredith Funeral Chapel in Carbondale, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Progress Port, a workshop that teaches life and job skill training for residents with disabilities, in Carterville, Illinois in honor of his daughter, Jennifer, to whom he dedicated his life.
