Richard Samuel Annable of Muldrow, OK, formerly of Cypress, IL, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at 6:18 p.m. in Sparks Regional Medical Center in Ft. Smith, AR.
Richard was born in Cypress, IL on September 14, 1945 to Samuel C. and Cora Lee (Woodside) Annable.
He is a graduate of Vienna High School and served his country in the US Navy and the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He then served in the Arkansas Air National Guard until his retirement. He enjoyed staying in touch with family and was known for his computer generated birthday cards. His constant companion was his dog “Smoky” that provided a lot of company and joy.
He is survived by three sisters, Joyce Riley and husband Kenneth of Karnak, IL, Mary McCarver of Edenburg, TX, and Janice Farris and husband Arbrie of Sallisaw, OK; two brothers, James Annable and wife Betty Lou of Granite City, IL and Rev. John Annable and wife Marilyn of Carbondale, IL; one sister-in-law, Shirley Annable of Goreville, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Betty Ring and one brother Horace “Ed” Annable.
Funeral services will be held be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Luther’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Luther’s Chapel Rd., Cypress. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m on Tuesday. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites performed by VFW Beggs-Gurley Post 5222, Vienna, IL.
