Rex Allen Bridgeman

February 19, 1951 — February 15, 2021

Rex Allen Bridgeman, 69, of Cobden, Illinois, passed away on February 15th, 2021 after a three-year battle with cancer.

Rex was predeceased by his siblings Dennis Lee and Janice Kay and his wife Linda. He is survived by his siblings Carolene Olson (nee Bridgeman) and Doug Bridgeman, as well as his sons, Bryan and Kent, his step-daughter Robin (Skip) Cutting (nee Conley) and his grandchildren Lydia (age 7, daughter of Bryan), and Alexandria (age 10, daughter of Robin).

Rex was born on February 19th, 1951, to Dennis (Denny) Bridgeman and Nadine Bridgeman (nee Forby) in Anna, Illinois. After graduating from Anna Highschool in 1969, he went on to study Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

In the fall of 1983, he met Linda (nee Brumfield), and they were wed in 1984 on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, going on to have 2 children, Bryan and Kent Bridgeman. After Linda's untimely death of cancer in 1988, Rex dedicated himself to the full-time care of his sons, doing various odd jobs to make ends meet.

In his later years, Rex spent his time painting, tinkering with various mechanical devices, and making crafts for his grandchildren.

As per his wishes, no public service will be held, due to the pandemic. A public, in-person memorial will be held at a later date to be determined. A private virtual memorial service will be held by invitation.
