Ramona J. (Mcdaniel) Sharp

CARBONDALE -- Ramona J. Sharp, 87, of Beecher, Illinois, formerly of Carbondale, passed away Thursday, November 30. 2017 in Kankakee, Illinois.



Ramona was born October 9, 1930 in Carbondale, the daughter of William and Laverne (nee Hall) McDaniel. On January 29, 1950, she married Howard Sharp who survives. She was a clerk for the Illinois Central Railroad. Ramona enjoyed playing cards, bowling and especially volunteering at the veterans home.



Surviving are her husband Howard from Beecher; sons Thomas (Delinda) Sharp of Lynwood and Gordon Sharp of Monee; daughter-in-law Donna Sharp of Seminole, Florida; three grandchildren: Brad, Matt and Maria (Eric) Rosenwald; two great grandchildren: Logan and Brooklyn; brother Morris (Janet) McDaniel of Carbondale; and Gary McDaniel of Marion, Kentucky.



She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Bruce Sharp; Infant grandson Trevor, as well as a sister Beulah Hagler and a brother William "Bill" McDaniel.



Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale with Gene Morgan officiating.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Ramona’s name to the Manteno Veterans Home; 1 Veteran’s Drive, Manteno, IL 60950. Envelopes will be available at the service.
