Priscilla "Doodle" Russell

GRAND TOWER - Priscilla "Doodle" Russell, age 74, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025 at her home in Grand Tower surrounded by her loving family.

Doodle was born on January 6, 1951 in Carbondale to William and Fronie (Riegger) Baltzel. Doodle married Benny Russell on June 14, 1974. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2001.

Doodle enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and her cat, Bub. She worked for Dyno-Nobel for eighteen years before she retired.

Doodle is survived by her children, Sarah Beth Russell Sauerbrunn, Kevin Russell, Kelly Russell, and Missy Fairbank; grandchildren, Rhylee Kate, Ramsie Elisabeth, Taryn Russell, Matthew Fairbank, and Joshua Fairbank; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Terrie (John) Schaefer and Clara Gale; brothers, William (Suzanne) Baltzel and Larry (Mary Beth) Baltzel; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny; parents; sister, Tina Baltzel; and brother, Johnny Baltzel.

Graveside services for Doodle will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Walker Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Doodle's name to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
