Philip L. Jackson

CARBONDALE - Philip L. Jackson, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at his home.

Philip was born on August 14, 1949 to Lewis and Jewell (Wilson) Jackson in Hidalgo, Illinois. He married Carol Connor on December 27, 1969.

Philip is survived by his wife, Carol Jackson of Carbondale; his sons, Kristian (Alecia) Jackson of Boone, NC and Benjamin (Alexis) Jackson of Portland, ME; his daughter Sarah (Christopher Shipman) Jackson of Greensboro, NC; his sister Sandalyn (Frank) Barbre of Carmi, IL; and his four grandchildren Silas Jackson, Jude Jackson, Finn Shipman, and Acer Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Philip graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in marketing and soon after took a position in product development and sales with bicycle manufacturer AMF in Olney, IL. After a career in bicycles and wheeled goods, Philip ventured into independent sales and product management in the gift industry. He enjoyed making pottery, hunting for native arrowheads, and spending time outdoors with his family. Philip cherished his children and his grandchildren and took pleasure in traveling to visit them.

A Celebration of Life will be set for a later date.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, the Humane Society of Southern Illinois, or the American Cancer Society.
