Pamela Sue Gwaltney

CARBONDALE - Pamela Sue Gwaltney, 51, of Hurst, IL passed away on December 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born July 8, 1964 in Belleville, she was the daughter of Robert H. and Judith M. (Waeltz) Huller. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Denis Clarence Gwaltney, Jr.; two daughters, Shannon Leigh and partner John Schroeder of Murphysboro and Victoria Lynn and partner Aaron Berry of Cambria; two brothers, Robert H. Huller, Jr. and wife Nicole of Zebulon, NC and Michael William Huller and wife Latischa of Mascoutah; mother and father-in-law, Denis C. and Fern Gwaltney of Belleville; eight nieces and nephews and four grand puppies. Pam loved to play cards and board games. She worked in real estate for 13 years until starting her second career at SIU. She began at the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute and then was the Associate Director of the University Honors Program at the time of her death. Memorial services for Pam will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at Meredith Funeral Home. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America or American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
