MAKANDA - Noah Jay Ross-Cheatham, 24, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Noah was born on August 22, 1999 in Carbondale to Timothy Cheatham and Melanie Ross.
Noah was a big hearted, barefoot, beautiful boy. He spent his years playing music, being outside, and traveling with his partner Emily. He loved his mom and sisters more than absolutely anything and spent many Sunday dinners with them laughing and visiting. He'd even go to church that morning to play guitar and sing, just for his Nanny Elaine, and got some great porch sitting in with his Papa Jay. He spent his other free time with his best friends of years, Ben, Roswell, and other amazing friends. He enjoyed writing music and reading books. His big personality was hard to not love by everyone who knew him.
Noah is survived by the love of his life, Emily Pope; mother, Melanie (Darrel Hartline) Ross; father, Timothy (Michele) Cheatham; siblings, Brianna (Daniel) Riddle, Faith (Heather) Halliday, Devin (Emily) Cheatham, Nick (Hayli) Cheatham; grandparents, Jay and Elaine Ross and Tom and Sharon Moore; great grandfather, Kenneth Nance; many Aunts and Uncles; nieces, Everly, Harper, Ryan and Ashlyn; nephews, Oliver and Asher; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his dear papa Larry; and paternal grandparents, Gary and Jan Cheatham.
Celebration of Noah’s Life will be at 6:00pm on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with Dennis Nance officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
