Neil Wayne Hudson

GRAND TOWER – Neil Wayne Hudson, 67, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.



Neil was born on July 14, 1954 to Frank and Dolores (Lindsey) Hudson in Murphysboro.



Neil over the years worked on the river boat, as a construction laborer, and farmer. He also served on the Grand Tower City Council. He loved going to auctions and looking for a good deal. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandson, Giovanni.



Neil is survived by his brothers, Darrell (Sheila) Hudson, Troy (Sandi) Hudson, and John (Tina) Hudson, all of Grand Tower; sisters, Dianna Snider of Sand Ridge, and Teresa (Russell) Tripp of Grand Tower; daughter, Lisa; step-daughter, Natasha; step-sons, Justin and Josh; grandsons, Giovanni, Dalton and Tristan; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.



He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gary Hudson.



Funeral services for Neil will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Grand Tower United Methodist Church with Pastors Ritchie Pyatt and Carl Dillow officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Meredith Funeral Chapel in Grand Tower is in charge of arrangements.



In lieu of flowers, memorials can made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
