Nancy Ann King

Carbondale - Nancy A. King, 56, passed away at, 11:45 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. Nancy was born December 19, 1956 in Oraville, IL., to Glen Lavern and Cora Olive "Dot" (Baseden) Schemonia. They both survive and are of Pomona, IL. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Ray King on December 31, 1977 in Carbondale at Dutch Ridge Baptist Church. He survives and is of Carbondale, IL. Other survivors include, her son and daughter-in-law, James Ryan and Angela King of Murphysboro, IL; her daughter, Christina Poirier of Anna, IL; four brothers, Larry Eugene Schemonia and John Schemonia both of Pomona, IL, Frank Schemonia of Murphysboro, IL, and Andrew Schemonia of Carbondale, IL; three sisters, Jane Evelyn Pinkston and Brenda Marfio of Murphysboro, IL, and Doris Stetson of Duluth, MN; five grandchildren, Gunnar Groves, Marlea and Benny Poirier of Anna, and Essie and Garron King of Murphysboro. Nancy is preceded in death by three brothers, Chuck, Jimmy Dean and Kenny Schemonia. She worked as a Cook for Carbondale Community High School and was a member of the Dutch Ridge Baptist Church in Carbondale, IL. She loved gardening, fishing, and spending time enjoying her grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale, IL, with Reverend Davie Miller officiating. Interment will be at Dutch Ridge Cemetery in Carbondale, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance, and may be made to American Cancer Society, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
