Michael Lee Stein

CARBONDALE – Michael Lee Stein, 54, of Carbondale, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.



Mike was born on July 21, 1965 to Robert and Juanita (Stearns) Stein in Carbondale. He married Jennie Lee Pleasants on February 14, 1986 in Carbondale.



He is survived by his wife Jennie of Carbondale; sons, Anthony Stein and Cody Stein; daughter, Cassidy Stein; grandson, Aiden Stein and granddaughter, Azalee Stein; father, Robert Stein and stepmother, Marilyn; mother, Juanita Stein; sisters, Lisa Linder and Beverley Stein; brother-in-law, Sam Pleasants and wife Debbie; step-brother, Greg Watson; step-sister, Judy Mantone; and several nieces and nephews.



Mike worked as a jeweler for over 30 years at Your Jeweler in Carterville. He enjoyed doing carpentry work, spending time outdoors and was an avid book reader. Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.



Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 with Tom Stearns officiating at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale. Burial will follow at Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro. Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11 at the funeral home.
