Michael Patrick Dorsey

CARBONDALE – Michael Patrick Dorsey, 44, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in Freeport, IL.

Patrick was born on June 23, 1980 in Burlington, IA and adopted four days later by the late Diane Neill Dorsey and J. Kevin Dorsey.

Patrick is survived by his children, Baden Dorsey of Murphysboro and Ava Dorsey of Carbondale; father Kevin Dorsey (Linda) of Springfield, brother Ryan Neill Dorsey (Ellen) plus nieces Lillian and Alice of St Louis, and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Patrick graduated from Carbondale Community High School and continued his education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science. Until recently he was the owner/operator of the Cliff’s Sub food truck in Carbondale. He enjoyed seeing people getting full on his food creations and was an avid exerciser as well as a strength and conditioning coach.

A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00am at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park lead by the family
