Michael B. (Worthen) Walker

Grand Tower - Michael B. (Worthen) Walker, 61, passed away 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at his residence. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. on March 18, 2014 at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower, with military honors, with Rev. Peggy Camp officiating. He was born March 13, 1953 to Minnie Bower in Joplin, Missouri. Michael is survived by one daughter, Amanda "A.J." (Curtis) Walker of Rockdale, IL; one brother George (Stephanie) Huffman of Grand Tower; three sisters, Debbie Bard of Joplin, MO, Mary Walker of Grand Tower, and Regina (Kevin) Worley of Salem, IL. He is preceded in death by one son, Stephen Walker, his mother, and step-father Fred Worthen. Michael worked in manufacturing as a laborer, and served in the Vietnam War. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to the DAV and will be accepted by the funeral home.
