Melissa A. Perrigan

MURPHYSBORO – Melissa Perrigan, 91, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Manor Court of Carbondale.

Melissa was born on April 3, 1931 to Charles and Genevieve (Robinson) Fetter in Venice, Illinois. She married Ben Perrigan on December 4, 1954 in Kankakee, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2000.

Melissa is survived by her children, Richard (Wendy) Perrigan of Murphysboro, Andrea (Greg) Jolly of Monroe, North Carolina, Leonard Perrigan of Murphysboro, Paul (Sherry) Perrigan of Carterville; grandchildren Callan Perrigan of Murphysboro, Dawn Gulley of Du Quoin, Christie Pugh of Murphysboro, Lisa Perrigan of Murphysboro, Melissa F. Perrigan of Monroe, North Carolina, Justin Brown of Stauton, Julie Albright of Wisconsin; and several great grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ben, daughters Judith, Peggy, and Laura, son Ben Jr., grandson Michael Pugh of Texas, brothers Robert Fetter and Russell Fetter, sister-in-laws, Rose Fetter and Annadell Fetter.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with Rev. John Annable officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Christian Church Cemetery in Pomona. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
