Carbondale - Mary K. Crews, 82, passed away at 5:10 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Mary was born September 2, 1933 in Marion, to George and Cynthia (Jones) Parks. She married Bobby Joe Crews on January 27, 1951 in De Soto. Together they shared 65 years of marriage. He survives and is of Carbondale. Mary is also survived by her two sons, Bobby (Denise) Crews of Carterville, and Roger (Darlene) Crews of Anna; daughter, Judy (Nick) Calcutta of Magnolia, DE; brother, Theodore Parks of Marion; three sisters, Venita McKinnes of De Soto, Betty Miller of Cambria, and Thelma Pulley of Herrin; five grandchildren, Amy, Erin, Jordan, Bobbie and Nicole; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. Mary was a good mother and devoted wife. She loved shopping yard sales, watching Cardinal baseball, and tending to her flower garden. She was a member of the First Assembly of God of Murphysboro, a member of AARP, and had worked in the Mail Service department of Vitamin World until her retirement in 1997. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale with Pastor Dean Akins officiating. Burial will follow at De Soto City Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Family %Bobby Crews and will be accepted at the funeral home.
