Madeline Glikin

Madeline Glikin, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at her home in Carbondale. 

Madeline was born on February 25, 1935 in Bronx, NY to David and Anna (Gorno) Rubin. Madeline married Barry Glikin in New Jersey.  He preceded her death on January 27, 1981. 

Madeline was a loving mom, generous caring person and loved by many.  She cherished her closest friends and her only grandson.  During her time in Carbondale, she loved the house, her new friends, the area of southern Illinois but hated the food.

Madeline is survived by daughter, Helene R. Glikin; son, Leonard R. Glikin; grandson, Brendan Royce Glikin; daughter-in-law Rebecca Parish-Glikin as well as other remaining family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry and son, Col. Arthur D. Glikin.   

Private services will be held at a later date. 

Memorials may be made in Madeline’s name to American Cancer Society and Hospice of Southern Illinois.
