De Soto - Lillian May McKinney, 85, of De Soto, passed away 12:06 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Meredith Funeral Home, Carbondale, with Robert Rosser officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be at McKinney Hill Cemetery, Carbondale. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance to the McKinney Hill Cemetery Association or to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home. She was born on April 21, 1930 to Arthur Leroy and Nedra Lucille (Hanson) Green at Murphysboro. She married Owen Thomas 'O.T.' McKinney on January 11, 1943 in Murphysboro. He passed away on January 24, 1995. She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Richard Green. Survivors include a son, Stephen Thomas (Jane Ann) McKinney of De Soto; a daughter, Kathy Jane (Robert) Rosser of Euharlee, GA.; eight grandchildren, Chris (Dodi) Leslie, Rhonda (Steve) Webb, Michael (Stormi) Rosser, Kimmy (Thomas) Carpenter, April Rosser, Misty (Scott) Brackett, Sherri (Anton) Eberhart, and Joe (Beth) McKinney; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; siblings, Jackie Jane McQuaid, Arcille McDowell, Peggy Schott, Dorothy Wright, Ruth Ann Scott, Wayne Green, Georgia Tincher, Joseph Green, Tommy Green, Linda Stockinger, Gary Green, Ida Jean Luketin, and Jimmy Green. From 1965 to 1977 she worked a Kroger Grocery Market and then worked as a kitchen worker at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for several years. She was awarded the Waffle House Employee of the Month.
