Lenn D. Carsrud

Murphysboro - Lenn D. Carsrud, 62, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale surrounded by his loving family. Lenn was born November 12, 1952 in Nevada, IA to Donn Leland and Alice Joan (Nerem) Carsrud. His mother preceded him in death. He married Carolyn Ann Christoff on June 16, 1973 in Carbondale. They shared 42 years of marriage. She survives and is of Murphysboro. Lenn is also survived by his two sons, Corey (Tara) Carsrud of Greenville, and Shane (Jessica) Carsrud of Carterville; daughter, Amanda Carsrud of Carbondale; two sisters, Janita (David) Gaylord of Graham, WA, and Dawn (Todd) Johnson of Lake Ozark, MO; four grandchildren, Jaidon, Jaxon, Lillian and Mitchell; father, Donn Carsrud of Ft. Meyers, FL. He was a Field Technician for Holcomb Engineering until his retirement on December 12, 2013. His joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. They were his delight in everyday life. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed reading during his retirement. He loved being outdoors as much as possible. He was of Lutheran Faith and a friend of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Carbondale, a member of the Hickory Ridge Golf Course, and a lifelong Cardinals fan. Visitation with the family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Carbondale, with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015, at Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro with Pastor Robert Gray officiating. Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to Hook a Kid on Golf, or Trinity Christian School Memorial Scholarship and will be accepted by Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale.
