DE SOTO – Lawrence Joseph Gaydos, Jr., 52, passed away on June 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Lawrence was born on December 3, 1969 to Lawrence, Sr. and Kathleen (Johnson) (Gaydos) Reiter in Jacksonville, Florida. He married LeAnne Lorenz on August 4, 2010 in Jackson, Mo.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife, LeAnne; devoted and brave children, Chandler, Kathleen, Raymond, Lily, and Jackson; his father, Lawrence Gaydos, Sr. and his wife Linda; sister, Jaime Fletcher; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Reiter who is waiting with open arms for her son.
Lawrence worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield. He was a member of the Vine Church in Carbondale and the Greyhawke Gamers Guild.
Lawrence lived each day with hope for tomorrow. His strong faith gave him hope for healing and hope for heaven. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges to the very end.
His strong beliefs gave him a love for his family that knew no bounds. He was thoughtful and creative which contributed to a broad range of interests, some of which included board games, fishing, and writing.
Funeral services for Lawrence will be 12:00pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with Pastor Greg Darling officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be 1:00pm on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5200 Lucas and Hunt Road; St. Louis, MO.
A memorial account has been established for Lawrence’s children. Checks can be made out to LeAnne Gaydos, with “Gaydos Kids Memorial Fund” in the memo line and will be accepted at the funeral home.
