CARBONDALE - Kenneth Ray Qualls II, 44, of Carbondale, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at his residence. Kenny was born December 7, 1968 in Hammond, IN, to Ken and Janice (Freeman) Qualls. Survivors include; his father, Ken and step-mother, Jamie Qualls of DeSoto; mother, Janice and step-father Tim Bell of Huntsville, AL; two daughters, Brooke Elizabeth Qualls and Makenzie Lane Qualls both of Carbondale; three sisters, Melissa (Mike) Gerlach of Brentwood, TN, Jackie Qualls McMullen of Huntsville, AL, and Lindsey Qualls of DeSoto; a brother, Brock Qualls of Nashville, TN; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins. He graduated from SIU-E with a degree in Psychology and had been a counselor in Lexington, KY and Nashville, TN. Kenny will be remembered as being a kind, caring and compassionate person who touched many lives. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Church of Christ. His faith was important to him, and he shared it with everyone he met. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Christian Covenant Church in Carterville. Reverend Ralph Brandon will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service at the church. Interment will be a Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower. The preferred form of remembrances is memorial donations to the Good Samaritan House of Carbondale and will be accepted by Meredith Funeral Home, Carbondale.
