John K. Savitz

GOREVILLE – John K. Savitz, 52, of Goreville, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016.

John was born October 25, 1963 in Carbondale to John Robert and Ardell (Smith) Savitz. They survive and are of Carbondale.



John was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to deer hunt. He was passionate about his automobiles and motorcycles and enjoyed repairing and restoring them. John was employed as an assistant engineer for American Commercial Barge Line. He was known for being a hard worker and will be missed by all who knew him.



He is preceded in death by his son, Wesley Savitz and maternal and paternal grandparents.



Memorial services for John will held at 11:00 am on Sunday, October 23, 2016 in South County Line Church, Carbondale with Tom Monroe officiating.



Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale is assisting the family with arrangements.
