John Fredrick Bigler

April 6, 1937 — August 20, 2016

Carbondale – John F. Bigler, 79, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.



John was born to Fred and Frances Bigler on April 6, 1937.



John was a retired building contractor and enjoyed raising horses, cows and goats. He was happiest when he was spending time with family or being outside with his animals.



Survivors include his loving wife, Karen Dietz Bigler; two sons, John Randall (Katrina) Bigler and Tony (Sandy) Bigler from Carbondale; a daughter, Deborah (Ernie) Gibson from Dresden, Tennessee; Grandchildren, Amy Bigler, Luke Chapman, Lance Chapman, Sarah Bigler, Miranda Kimball, Chassidy Bigler, John T. Bigler; step-grandchildren, Kendyl Adams, Chantiel Attmore, Melissa Reynolds, Chelsea Stockdale and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Betty Bigler, Jean Gerstenberger Barbara Gooden and Ruth (Floyd) Gooden; sister’s in-law, Lou Bigler and Janet Fassel and brother-in-law, Dick (Diane) Dietz and numerous nieces and nephews.



He was preceeded in death by his parents, Fred and Frances, brothers and sisters, Ed (Florence) Bigler, Ben (Christine) Bigler , Bob (Irene) Bigler, Raymond (Alberta) Bigler Joe Bigler, Frances (Charlie) Freeman, Mary (Joe) Waicukauski, Margaret (Britt) Sullivan, Helen (Jim) Gregory and Louise Bigler. Brothers-in law, Kenneth Fassel, James and Al Gerstenberger.



A memorial service will be held at a later date.
