John Franklin "Frank" Biggs

Carbondale - John Franklin "Frank" Biggs, 69, passed away at 10:42 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with his family by his side. Frank was born July 10, 1945 in Carbondale to John Franklin and Evelyn Ruth (Golliher) Biggs. He married A. Lynn Biggs on November 18, 1967 in De Soto. She survives and is of Carbondale. Frank is also survived by many family members, including his son, Rusty (Sharon) Biggs of Carbondale; daughter, Shannon (Doug Anderson) Biggs of New Port Richey, FL; three grandchildren, Mollie Biggs, Casey and Zoey Anderson; sister, Joyce (Leonard) Basler of Carbondale; aunt, Louise Golliher and family of Carbondale. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jimmy Biggs, one sister, Ellen Rowden and a nephew, Richard Bodkin. Frank proudly served our country in the National Guard from 1965 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a Barber for 25 years until he started working for the City of Carbondale as a Housing Inspector for 16 years. He retired on December 29, 2007. He was a member of the Murdale Baptist Church of Carbondale for many years. He had a great passion for antique cars. He was always fixing up and restoring projects in the garage. Mustangs were his specialty. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Murdale Baptist Church of Carbondale, with Reverend Paul Hicks officiating. Interment with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post 127 at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the church. Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to Murdale Baptist Church of Carbondale and will be accepted by Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale.
