Jim Stevens

CARBONDALE - Jim Stevens, 63, of Carbondale, passed away at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale on Sunday, August 29, 2021.



Jim was born in Bedford, IN to Paul and Joan (Wilhite) Stevens. Jim married Becky Stevens on March 3, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV.



Jim went to school at the University of Illinois. He went on to work for several insurance companies but most recently worked as an Insurance Representative for West Bend Mutual Insurance Company for over ten years. Jim loved to camp, fish, boat, watch and attend sporting events and he was an avid animal lover. Every summer he went up to Minocqua, WI with his family to muskie fish on Squaw Lake.



He is survived by his wife, Becky; sons, Philip (Kristin) Stevens and David Stevens all of St. Louis; step-daughters, Amanda (David) Pinkham and Bailey Johnson all of St. Louis; grandchildren, Ava and Connor Stevens and Makenna Pinkham; parents, Paul and Joan Stevens of Wausau, WI; sister, Teresa (Rick) Ruhl; and nephews, Nathan Ruhl and Kevin (Cally) Ruhl.



He was preceded in death by grandparents and Uncle Jim Wilhite.



A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. For those who cannot attend the service will be live streamed on the funeral home’s website, www.meredithfh.com.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Francis Animal Shelter in Murphysboro. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family has requested that those attending the Celebration of Life wear casual attire only.
