DESOTO - Jesse William Crow, 96, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in Marion.
Jesse was born on June 11, 1926 in Queens Village, NY to Jesse and Ida (Hendrickson) Crow.
Jesse proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division – Parachute Infantry during WWII from 1943 until 1947. He worked for Albon’s General Store in DeSoto then went to work for the Illinois Department of Transportation until his retirement. Jesse was a member of the De Soto Masonic Lodge #287. He was a member of the Rivers of Living Water Fellowship Church in De Soto for many years. Jesse loved his church family and enjoyed the fellowship he had with them.
Jesse is survived by his sons, Jesse A. Crow and wife Karen of DeSoto; Michael Crow and wife Lisa of Herrin and Scott Crow of DeSoto; 3 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Lloyd Crow; sister-in-law Romona; sister, Marion Dell Harmon; brother-in-law David and infant sister, Barbara Ann Crow.
Funeral services for Jesse will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Rivers of Living Water Fellowship Church in DeSoto with Pastor Susan Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at DeSoto Cemetery with full Military Rites. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 4:00pm on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with Masonic Rites at 3:45pm.
Memorials may be made in Jesse’s name to Honor Flight or Shriners Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home and church.
