Jerry Brooks

CARBONDALE - Jerry Ray Brooks, 79, of Carbondale passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Jerry was born on September 15, 1943 in Carbondale to Charles and Cynthia (Croft) Brooks.

Jerry owned and operated Jerry’s Flower Shoppe for almost sixty years.

Jerry is survived by his sisters, Barbara (John) Origliosso and Virginia (David) Watson; four nieces and nephews; and his beloved Desmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Charles Brooks; and his life partner of 38 years, Nolan Williamson.

A prayer service will be held at 3:30pm on Sunday, December 11, 2022 with Father Robert Flannery and Father Dale Coleman officiating at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials in Jerry’s name may be made to St. Francis Care Animal Shelter and will be accepted at the funeral home.
