James "J.C." Morrow

CARBONDALE – James “J.C.” Morrow, 34, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

J.C. was born on August 31, 1989 to David Andrew and Cynthia Jo (Clark) Morrow in Paducah, KY. He married Kay Ellen Brewer on October 12, 2017 at Fort Walton Beach, FL.

The newest addition, a baby girl, Maysen Grace is due to arrive in October. J.C. is also survived by his wife, Kay, son, Lucas James, parents David and Cynthia Morrow, sister Andrea (Joel) Young, brother Andrew (Erin) Morrow, parents-in-law Michael and Grace Brewer, sister-in-law Kimberly (Christopher) Tyra, brother-in-law Kenneth Brewer, one niece and six nephews, an uncle and several aunts. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Frances and James McCarthy, grandfather Chester “Gump” Clark, grandparents James and Evelyn Morrow, uncle Christopher Clark and uncle Donald Rabbit.

J.C. worked as a Data Analyst for Komatsu in Mt. Vernon, IL beginning in 2017. He graduated with his Masters in Science in 2017, Bachelor’s in Science in 2011 both in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. J.C. rushed with fraternity Phi Sigma Kappa in 2008. He loved God, digging into the word, and always had a biblical podcast playing in the background. He loved his family fiercely with all of his heart. He was a great father and had a special bond with his son like no other. J.C. loved his church family at Cornerstone Church in Marion, IL and always looked forward to serving on the production and communion teams. He was a stranger to no one and always had a story to share. 

In J.C.'s hometown, Brookport, IL, a Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Brookport First Baptist Church located at 700 Pell Road; Brookport, IL. 

Celebration of J.C.'s Life will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Meredith Funeral Home located at 300 S. University Ave in Carbondale with Pastors Dustin Keele and Nathan Ralls officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
