In his later career in southern Illinois, he worked at Choate Mental Health & Developmental Center and with Dr. Mike Delaney and Dr. David Mann.

Jerry was an avid golfer and loved being outside in the sun at Hickory Ridge Golf Course. In fact, the week before his 75th birthday, he made a “hole in one” on the 6th hole at Hickory Ridge. He looked forward to attending Saluki ball games but also enjoyed his grandchildren’s ball games. Jerry was a big fan of coffee and sweets and took joy in sharing donuts with his grandchildren, friends and co-workers.
Jerry was also very grateful to have been a friend of Bill W.’s for 36 years and truly appreciated the friends he made over the years.
