Gavin Flynn

Carbondale - Gavin Flynn, 18, passed away at 8:51 p.m. on December 5, 2015 in Carbondale Memorial Hospital. Gavin was born April 14, 1997 in Murphysboro, Illinois. He is survived by his mother, Jodi Flynn, father Bob Greene, and sister, Daylen Flynn all of Carbondale; grandparents, Jeff Flynn of Jerseyville and Jerilu Flynn of Carbondale; great-grandparents, Tom and Donna Flynn of Jerseyville; uncle and aunt, Jared and Kylee Flynn of Oxford, Mississippi; aunt Holly Wildt of Grafton; and godfather, Bret Simon of San Antonio, Texas. Gavin was employed as a lifeguard at the Life Community Center for the past three and a half years. He was a 2015 recent graduate of Carbondale Community High School and was a blood and organ donor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with visitation from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and can be made to the family in care of Jodi Flynn. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the funeral home.
