Florence Miriam Mcmillan

CARBONDALE – Florence M. McMillan, 95, of Carbondale, passed away at 8:08 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Manor Court of Carbondale.



Florence was born on July 31, 1922 to Nicholas H. and Minnie Alma (Lomax) Meister in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On September 19, 1942 Florence was united in marriage with William James McMillan in Philadelphia. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1983.



Florence is survived by daughters-in-law, Bonnie McMillan and Sharon McMillan; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Eugene) Talley, Megan (Raymond Jr.) Clodi, Sarahjane McMillan, and Joshua McMillan; four great grandchildren, Kaylan and Savannah Talley and Alistair and Anderson Clodi.



Florence is preceded in death by her husband, William; parents; two sons, Eric W. McMillan and Bruce James McMillan and one sister.



Florence was a loving homemaker who loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always taking care of others.



Memorial services for Florence will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Murphysboro with Rev. Hoem officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.



The preferred form of remembrance are memorial donations to Mount Vernon Township High School Special Olympics. Envelopes will be available at the church.
