GRAND TOWER- Flo "Toots" Cook, 89, of Grand Tower, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Grand Tower Chapel, Grand Tower, with Reverend Peggy Camp officiating. Interment will be held at Walker Hill Cemetery, Grand Tower. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home. Toots was born in Alto Pass to Lewis and Maude (Hancock) Cripps. She married Howard W. Cook on August 28, 1941 in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded death by her parents, two daughters, a grandson, one great granddaughter, five brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include four sons, Howard "Cookie" W (Virginia) Cook, Jr. of Cadiz, Ky., Raymond L. (Mary) Cook and Floyd L (Louis) Cook all of Murphysboro, and John E Cook of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; five daughters, Carol "Sisie" Francis Cook and Jose Rodriquez of Taft, TX, Linda Cook, Paula Cook, Floetta Cook, and Hazel Cook all of Grand Tower; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister, Shelby Jean (Cripps) Corbin of Grand Tower. Toots was employed at the Grand Tower VFW Post 7190 for 20 years and was a Member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Christian woman of the Baptist Faith.
