F. Andrew "Andy" Wild

CARBONDALE - F. Andrew "Andy" Wild, 28, of Carbondale, passed away at 11:04 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was born November 19, 1983, to Frederick and Elizabeth (Peterson) Wild, in Carbondale. Andy is preceded in death by his father, Frederick "Fred" Wild, on December 6, 2010; paternal grandparents, Jim and Joyce Wild; maternal grandfather, Charles Peterson and two uncles, Jimmy Wild and Chip Peterson. Survivors include his mother; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (Tim) Newton of Carbondale; grandmother, Sandra Lowell of Carbondale; aunts and uncles, Jodi Paul of Makanda, Leatha Joe and George Lindsey of Carbondale, Lloyd and Shirley Wild of Carbondale; cousins, Chase and Casey Paul, Jimmy Ray, Jason, Alison and Christy Wild; and niece Hannah Newton; caretakers, Alta and Michael Akers and numerous other cousins and relatives. He was an original member of the Blood Horde, a member of the Medieval Combat Society and a former Boy Scout. He had worked as a caregiver for his father. He loved to play video games and was online with Second-Life, and other social media. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Meredith Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Carbondale with Rev. Sam Foskey officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at the funeral home. Andy had requested to be cremated. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2012 at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Katherine Graves officiating. Memorials may be made out to the family for an educational fund for his niece, Hannah Newton. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
