Ellen Morse Bradley

CARBONDALE – Ellen Morse Bradley, 79, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.



Ellen was born on July 7, 1940 in Riverside, Illinois to George and Eleanor (Ickes) Morse. On July 27, 1962 she married Richard “Dick” Bradley at Riverside, Illinois and spent over 55 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2018.



Ellen is survived by her daughter, Alison Schneider of St. Peters, MO; sons, Steve Bradley and wife Michelle of Herrin, Aaron Bradley of Atlanta, GA and Jason Bradley of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Justin and Evan Schneider and Owen and Jordyn Bradley; and brother, Steve Morse and wife Kathi of Mt. Pleasant, SC.



She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.



Ellen was a teacher in the LA school system before starting a family. She followed up with her Masters Degree at SIU after her kids had grown. She worked many years in SIU’s Disabled Student Services Dept. Ellen loved travel, reading, delivering meals on wheels, theater and dance performances. She was a patron of the arts, and her most recent affiliations were with the SIU Summer Playhouse & SIU Music Festival. Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her large group of friends.



Per Ellen’s wishes, no funeral services will be held but a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.



Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan House, Meals on Wheels, or any local charity of the donor’s choice.
