Elizabeth "Bettye" Moroni

DESOTO - Elizabeth “Bettye” Moroni, 103, of DeSoto, entered life immortal at 3 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.



Bettye was born on April 4, 1917 in Campbellsville, KY the daughter of Martin and Minnie (Coyle) Barnett. She married Jesse Moroni on June 12, 1944. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2003.



Bettye is survived by her niece, Ruth Ann Lockwood of DeSoto; nephews, Dennis and John Barnett of DeSoto; and great niece, Grace Barnett of Sturgis, KY.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Michael Moroni; four sisters and two brothers.



Bettye was a founding member of Christ The King North American Lutheran Church of DeSoto. She loved her family and helping others in the community.



A celebration of Bettye’s life will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, November 9, 2020 at Meredith Funeral Home, Carbondale with Rev. Preston Foster officiating. Interment will be held at DeSoto Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 face masks and social distancing are required. Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to Christ the King North American Lutheran Church of DeSoto and will be accepted by the funeral home.
