Earl A. Czajkowski

CARBONDALE - Earl A. Czajkowski, 69, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at his home.

Earl was born as a beloved son of the late Joseph A. and Frances I. Czajkowski in Chicago.

He is survived by his brother Joseph M. (Alicia) Czajkowski. He was a loving uncle of Joseph R. and Brian D. Czajkowski, and a special friend of Lynn Timmerman.

He was the first blind student at Brother Rice High School in the 1970’s and later graduated from Southern Illinois University.

He loved Carbondale so much that he never came back to the Chicago area and even ran for city council of Carbondale in 2011.

He had a challenging life, but he didn’t let anything deter him from having an active life. He will be missed by many as he was so well known in the community.

He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Burbank.

 Memorials can be made to Hadley School for the Vision Impaired.
