CARBONDALE - Doyle J. Odum, 76 of Carbondale passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
He was born October 17th 1947, in Creal Springs to the late Annebelle (Boyd) Odum and Joseph F. Odum, formerly of Marion.
Doyle worked for the United States Postal Service for many years until his retirement in 2007, and for Yellow Cab in Carbondale, from 2007 to 2012. He enjoyed Football and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and made it a point to watch the game on Sundays. He also volunteered for WDBX Community Radio in Carbondale as a DJ and hosted the Late Night Spotlight. Most of all he enjoyed time with his family, who will forever miss him.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Odum of Carbondale; daughter, Kelly (David) Allen; sons, Joey Odum and Micheal Casey; sisters, Judy Mezo of Desto, Sue (Earl) Webb of Harrisburg, and Sharon (Mike) Harris of Marion; brother, Steven (Donella) Odum of Pamona; granddaughters, Lynn Baker, Heaven Allen, and Harmony Groves; great-granddaughter, Akila Duncan, and grandsons, Hayden Baker and David Baker, and his favorite dog Zero.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Troy Donald Odum.
There will be a memorial benefit at the VFW on June 30th from 12pm to 8pm in Creal Springs.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help assist the family with funeral expenses.
