Doris M. Dover

DE SOTO – Doris M. Dover, 87, of De Soto passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at her home.



Doris was born on March 2, 1931 in Carbondale to Teddy and Irene (Wright) Crawshaw. She married Ralph L. Dover on May 26, 1951 at Boskydell. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2006.



Survivors include three daughters, Linda Dover of Carbondale, Gayla Wilson of West Frankfort and Cathy Dover of De Soto; one son, Alan (Karen) Dover of De Soto; one grandson, Joshua (Lisa) Dover of Murphysboro; great-grandsons, Patrick and Ethan Dover; sisters, Jeanette McGee, Joan Cargine, Violet Covington, and Anna Mary Rushing; and many nieces and nephews.



Doris was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Dan Wilson; and sisters, Louise Doetch, Betty Hiller, Virginia Chamness, and brother, Bob Crawshaw.



Doris worked as a seamstress for over thirty years in Du Quoin and Carbondale. She also worked as a homecare provider.



Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Meredith Funeral Home, Carbondale with Josh Wehrmeier officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
