Delores Luella Rich

DuQuoin – Delores Luella Rich, 86, formerly of Carbondale, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL.



Delores was born Wednesday, April 1, 1931 to Robert E. Lee and Mildred (Bulliner) Craft in Neosho, Missouri.



She married Glenn Edward Rich on April 29, 1949 in Herrin. Together they celebrated 65 years of marriage until his passing on Monday, March 9, 2015.



Delores is survived by her three sons; Steve (Connie) Rich of Whitewater, MO, Tim (Rae) Rich of Hampton, VA, and Terry (Ana) Rich of Laurel, MD; three daughters, Linda Swinford of DuQuoin, Diana (Don) Cain of Salem, MO, and Sherry McInerney of DuQuoin, IL, one brother; Robert (Barbara) Craft of Louisville, KY; one sister Joyce Riggs of Spring Hill, FL; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins; She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons-in-law; Joe Swinford and Steve McInerney, one sister and husband, one brother-in-law and wife, one brother.



Delores was a loving homemaker, constantly nurturing and caring for her family, friends and everyone who was privileged to know her. Everyone that met her commented on how sweet and caring she was. Delores was a proud and devoted member of the Beaucoup Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale.



A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale with Rev. Paul Hicks officiating. Interment following service, will be held at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at the church.



Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life, or American Heart Association, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society, or to the charity of donor’s choice. Donations will be accepted at the church and envelopes provided.
