David Edward Reed

David E. Reed, 58, of DeSoto passed way at 8:45 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at his home. David was born November 16, 1953 in Morris, IL to Robert Norman and Dorothy Lee (Farner) Reed. He is survived by his father, Robert Reed of DeSoto; four daughters; Leeann (Brian) Skidmore, of Tulsa, OK, Lori (Shannon) Rister of DeSoto, Jennifer (William) Thomas of Murphysboro, and Kacey Huck of DeSoto; one brother Robert S. Reed of DeSoto; one sister, Verna (Norman) Horner of Cambria; and eight grandchildren, Tyler Reed, Dylan Skidmore, Brittany Skidmore, Sarah Ripley, Daniel Rister, William Thomas, Jessamyn Thomas, and Aymara Thomas. David is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy and brother, Carroll Gene Reed. David served in the United States Army for 18 years. He then moved back to the area and worked as a HVAC contractor, in his own business, Dave Reed HVAC. His life goal was to bring people to Christ. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in DeSoto with, Reverends Josh Wehrmeier and Chris Hottensen officiating. Interment will be in DeSoto Cemetery, where military services will be held. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, at First Baptist Church. The preferred form of remembrance are memorials to the family.
